The best thing about Go Fish is that the games are affordable and can be used even as the kids grow up. Also, you can purchase different sets of Go Fish if your child’s interests change.

Blocks are awesome and should be a staple in all families…These classic toys aren’t just fun; they’re supercharging our little ones’ development. When kids stack those colorful cubes, they’re flexing their awesome little brains and using their imagination.

Now, let’s talk puzzles. Another classic toy! These puzzle pieces are teaching our kids basic concepts about shapes, different colors, and problem-solving all at once. In this day of smart devices, puzzles are not a top choice for young toddlers to have fun with but parents should take the initiative to introduce simple puzzles at a young age. They’re fun!

Toy Vehicles 

Yes, I put these great underrated language toys on here…When kids zoom those cars around, they’re minds are also racing with awesome surreal situations of fun. Push that car hard, and zoom! It goes faster. Gentle push? Slow and steady wins the race! Cars are one of my son’s favorite toys.

My son and I both use Hotwheels and other cars in different ways with make-shift garages, parking lots, and traffic jams. Great for imaginative open-ended play.

Animal and Other Figurines 

I love these! Including dinosaurs and Pokemon figurines. When kids play with these mini critters, they’re using their imagination to make animal sounds, using action words and toddler talk. How fun is that?

Farm Sets 

Farm animals!  These playsets give a great opportunity for using animal sounds and also give weird and fun animal names to each one. They’re teaching our tots about community roles, spatial awareness, and the world of animals. 

Art Supplies 

Not for my son…  He’s a clean freak like Dad and not a big painting fan. But, usually, when kids get their hands messy with paint or squish Play-Doh, they’re firing up those brain connections like crazy. Most kids love getting icky and slimy… but not us. Haha…

Creativity Kits 

Now, let’s talk creativity kits. I love Green Kids Crafts… Their projects allow kids to be creative, build confidence, and enjoy a sense of accomplishment as they produce crafts and conduct experiments they love, that are unique and special to them. A truly must-try for little kids from 3 year olds until 10 or so.
